My name is Julie-Ann Murphy, mum to my own Little Artvark, Nia and founder of the Little Artvarks arts, crafts and messy play classes.

Little Artvarks came about after a moment of inspiration at 3am one morning. Whilst lying in bed, thinking about my daughters’ day at nursery, I couldn’t get over how proud I’d been when I was presented with her very first piece of art.  It was a simple picture, just two little red smudgy handprints on the middle of a yellow piece of card. It was the most beautiful picture I’d ever seen!  In the weeks that followed, so too did many more works of art, some were glittery, some had sticky bits attached and all had a story behind them……’Nia loved squishing the paint through the sponge’, ‘Nia loved splashing her hands in the paint tray’, ‘Nia loved shaking the glitter over the paper’……..and I was missing out on all this fun!  The idea for Little Artvarks soon began to take shape. I wanted to provide fun, yet educational classes for little ones which parents could attend too. The absolute 'no go back point' came for me when I saw a photograph of Nia with an apron on and blue paint splodged all over her hands…the look on her face was priceless…and so Little Artvarks began.

Little Artvarks offer classes aimed at babies and young children to support the development of their creative thinking ability and use of imagination through art and craft activities and messy play, in a fun, safe environment.
